So about a few days ago, I visited J&J Hair Identity and thanks to them, I finally get my hair colour changed. Well, I will say that it is a pretty refreshing changed!
As all of us know how harmful bleaching and dying your hair can be. Therefore, I've constantly avoid dyeing my hair not to even mention about bleaching my hair. Having born with very thin fine hair, I definitely done want to hurt my scalp resulting in hair loss, or even end up having really dry hair which resemble hay at the end of the day.
However, I decided to head down to J&J Hair Identity, a hair salon situated in Katong Square Mall which is next to Katong 112 shopping mall to give it a try, because they offers a full range of NATULIQUE® an ECOCERT certified hair coloring, bleaching and styling products that are from Denmark, a country that is voted as one of the world’s leading countries within renewable energy and sustainable living. Plus point is that all products are 100% PPD, Ammonia, Resorcinol, Paraben and Lauryl Sulfate Free! These ingredients are usually found in permanent hair dyes which may cause allergy reactions, damage hair cuticles etc. So why putting stresses to your hair by using such harmful products and then spend another lump sum on hair treatments at the end of the day?
Using all natural ingredients only, it has 73 different natural hair colors. The hair colors are designed to give a gentle hair colour with extra conditioning with their special formula includes pure natural sunflower seed extract, jojoba oil and apricot seed oil.
When I visited J&J Hair Salon , the first thing I noticed was the open concept interior which was still pretty cozy. They were quite busy on the day which I visited but nevertheless, their service was not compromised, So huge tick for the service there!
I was served by Jac, the Lead Designer as well as the co- founder of J&J Hair Identity. He sat with me and asked me if I have any colour in mind or any pictures of inspiration as well as understanding my occupation, if i'm allow to go for wild colours.
Jac and his team of stylist follow the same formula when serving every customer.
J&J's T.O.P Identity formula aims to bring out customer's identity, individuality and uniqueness.
1. Textura
J&J will analyze your hair texture beforehand to determine the suitable solutions regardless of colour, perm, rebonding, treatments.
2. Originality
Considering customer's original face features (oval, long, square, round etc) to create the suitable hair-dos and outcome that can either bring out your best features.
3. Personality
understanding each individual's preferences, professions, lifestyle J&J aims to provide long-lasting hairstyle that is easy to maintain and manage at home.
Initially, I wanted to try out ombre grey. However, Jac was really honest to advice me that the colour I choose would not last long and will eventually fade to yellow.
Jac was really patient with me even though I could make up my mind on which colour to choose. After understanding that I prefer cooler tones to warmer tones he sugessted to go for mix blue and green in balayage style to achieve a professional look with a hint of colour Since it was a really light colour, I have to undergo the bleaching process.
In total, I did approximately 2 rounds of bleaching before getting my hair dyed.
Throughout the entire process, there was no unpleasant scent from the bleach and dye, in fact their product smells really good!
After spending about 6.5 hours in the salon, it was all worth it! I'm really satisfied with the final outcome.
The colour blending turn out to be very nature, much to my liking, honestly can't wait for the next session already!
As you can see, even after bleaching, my hair still look pretty soft and smooth, no trace of dryness at all. After 2 days, the colours are still pretty vibrant.
